Flashback Friday

On the occasion of my birthday weekend, I'm flashing back to 1970.  Forty years ago, on June 6th, I received a very special present...a baby sister.  She was barely a week old in this picture.  She was born on my birthday in Lemoore, California.  We lived in military housing on the Navy base.  I have a vague memory of being taken by my dad to the hospital to see my mom and sister.  I remember peering through the outside window...maybe we weren't allowed in together.  Not sure what we did to celebrate other than that.  I'll have to investigate that a little further.
Happy Birthday, Kristen!  Thanks for the memories!

Ry's Pre-K Show

Ry and his classmates had their end of year show today. They sang songs such as "Pre-K Hooray" and "Kindergarten Here We Come!"

Mr. Silly Face
It's amazing how much he has grown and learned in this past year.  Pre-K was a great class for him!
They recited poetry in small groups.  Ry's group recited something called "Just Around the Corner," a sweet poem about friendship.  It goes:
Just around the corner or somewhere far away,
At a neighbor's party, a park where children play,
In a school, on a bus, or just around the bend,
You never know exactly when you'll find a friend!

They all did a wonderful job.  Knowing Ry is moving on to the next stage of his life, brought tears to my eyes.  He has been at Clifton Presbyterian Church Preschool for three years.  It has been a wonderful experience!
